The head of Uber Technologies Inc.’s human resources department resigned Tuesday following allegations that she dismissed racial discrimination complaints at the company, Reuters reported. Chief Executive Dara Khosrowshahi announced the resignation of Chief People Officer Liane Hornsey in an email seen by Reuters. Hornsey, who was one of Uber’s leading voices on workplace diversity and discrimination, was reportedly under investigation for systematically dismissing internal racial-bias complaints. Uber has faced a number of complaints and lawsuits alleging sexual and racial discrimination and harassment, including a female software engineer who sued in May. In March, Uber agreed to settle a class-action discrimination lawsuit by 420 female and minority employees for $10 million. Khosrowshahi, who took over as CEO from founder Travis Kalanick last year, has pledged to clean up Uber’s corporate culture.
