Cargill Meat Solutions celebrated the grand opening of their new hiring center on Saturday afternoon with live music and a free barbeque lunch for the residents of Fort Morgan.
As one of Morgan County’s largest employers, Cargill decided it was time to open a facility that is specifically dedicated to recruiting and hiring new employees. Recruiting Specialist Cecy Drew explained that the new hiring location is going to allow the company’s hiring process to be much more effective.
“Before this new building, those who wanted to put in an application would have to go into our facility to apply. Now they can simply come into the hiring center,” she said. Drew explained that the new location in the 400 block of West Platte Avenue is much more central than the plant, which makes for a more convenient experience for new applicants.
“Since our plant operates on the outskirts of town, it’s not always easy for our new applicants,” Drew said. “The new hiring location will make a positive impact in our hiring and recruiting process, both for us and our applicants.”
“We want to encourage those who are interested in pursuing a career at Cargill to stop by our new location to learn more,” Drew said. “We’re hiring for many positions, and with our new location being so central, we can accommodate to our applicants needs more efficiently, which is important to us.”
The Fort Morgan plant currently employs over 2,100 Morgan County residents, making it one of the largest meat processing plants in the country in terms of employment. Globally, Cargill employs more than 155,000 people across 70 countries and generates over $100 billion in annual revenue.
Cargill’s long-standing equal employment opportunity policy encourages applicants from any and all backgrounds. The company does not use nationality, race, gender, religion, or age to determine the potential of applicants.
Cargill Fort Morgan is currently offering wages starting at $15.35 per hour and can pay up to $21.35 per hour. The plant is looking to fill positions in fabrication, harvesting, maintenance, and supervision. Benefits include medical, dental, and prescription drug insurance, life insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a variety other health and wellness incentives.
To apply to work at Cargill or to learn more about the new hiring center, visit the facility at 408 West Platte Avenue on Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
