Honda invited Andre out to California to take a look at the 2019 Honda HR-V, as well as the new 2019 Honda Pilot. This video is a brief walkaround that shows off some of the new features, plus talks about pricing and availability.

Mid-Cycle Refresh

First and foremost, you will notice the new design on the 2019 Honda HR-V. The grille, plus the headlights are all new. Actually, the entire front end looks pretty different. Around the back, there are new taillights plus a new chrome exhaust tip. Honda has tried to give the 2019 Honda HR-V a more aggressive look. Did they achieve this? Let us know what you think down below.

Interior Features

The gauges on the 2019 Honda HR-V are redesigned, as well as the infotainment unit. Honda have added back the volume knob, a necessity, plus integrated Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

Tech Enhancements

Honda Sensing has now been made standard on EX trims and higher. This includes: Collision Mitigation Braking System, Road Departure Mitigation, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Keeping Assist.

Powertrain

The engine remains the same for 2019. It is a 1.8L four-cylinder that makes 141 horsepower and 127 lb-ft of torque. However, Honda has ditched the manual transmission option, leaving just the CVT unit. This is due to the fact that only 2% of HR-Vs were sold with a manual. We gotta buy them if we want manufacturers to sell them.

New Trim Levels

Honda has added two new trims for 2019, the Sport and Touring trims. The Sport trim features unique styling cues that look more, well, ‘sporty’. Namely, a lot of black painted trim pieces, honeycomb grille & unique wheels.

The other new trim, Touring, is the top of the line model. This adds leather seats and a sunroof. Below is a chart that shows off where these two new trims fit in the model range, plus tells you pricing:
